Research Group 6.01.00 deals with research issues on outdoor recreation, tourism, landscape planning and management, and nature conservation in the multiple use management. The main focus of research interests and discussion themes in the group is integration of different uses of natural resources, particularly recreation, tourism and nature conservation from socio-economic and ecological points of view. The ecological approach in use of natural resources is emphasised in landscape management and preservation. Recreation and ecotourism in a wide spectrum is included, from urban forest recreation to the more nature-based type of recreation. Nature conservation has an important role in the program. Nature conservation is considered as a holistic approach in land use planning and multiple use of forests.
