About the Research Group

Appropriate forest legislation is an essential requirement for the protection and conservation of forests and for sustainable forest resources development. In many countries the process to revise and amend forest laws has gained momentum over the years. Changes to improve the legal framework have been induced by growing political importance of forests at local and national levels as well as to the international community. 9.06.00 (formerly 6.13.00), the forest law and environmental legislation Research Group, promotes exchange of information amongst researchers and practitioners active in forest law and environmental legislation all over the world. It reviews the state of the subject, thereby identifying trends concerning research and practice. If you are interested to exchange information and to cooperate as a member of IUFRO Unit 9.06.00 please contact the Coordinator or one of the Deputy Coordinators. Research Papers may be submitted in English, French, German and Spanish.
