The “Second International Young Scientist Forum - Bamboo Resources in a Changing Climate” in Hangzhou, China, underlined that bamboo is a vital nature-based solution for climate change, with high carbon storage potential, diverse economic applications, and strong socio-environmental benefits. Collaborative efforts between scientists, policymakers, and industry stakeholders are essential to scale up bamboo solutions worldwide.

In the latest episode of Branching Out: the Forest Podcast, hosts Jose Bolaños and Dante Bertocci discuss with René Zamora-Cristales the importance of sustainable forest management and restoration. They explore how Division 3's work in forest operations goes beyond timber harvesting to include biodiversity conservation and the use of AI technology. Tune in to learn how careful planning and local expertise are crucial for meeting global restoration targets.

The IUFRO Board has now approved 12 new Task Forces, while the most recently established Task Force on Precision Pest Management (PPM) in Forest Ecosystems (led by Jeremy Allison, Natural Resources Canada) will continue its work in the period from 2025-2029. IUFRO Task Forces are established on a temporary basis to enhance inter‐disciplinary cooperation.
