Biography

Raquel is a Civil Engineer with a master's and PhD in Structural Engineering (research focused on Timber Structures) and a Post-Doctorate in Forest Engineering, with a focus on non-destructive testing of Wood (ultrasonics). She is currently a Full Professor at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), where she is responsible for teaching Timber Structural Design at the undergraduate level and Theoretical Aspects of Ultrasonics Applied to Materials at the graduate level. 

Her research focuses on non-destructive testing applied to the characterization, classification, and inspection of wood, timber structures, and trees (both forest and urban). As a result of her practical experience with the industry, she has worked on the development of ultrasonic equipment and software for ultrasonic tomography imaging.
