Biography

Purabi Bose is a social scientist and an artivist working for 25 years on issues at the tropical forest and land tenure interface in the Global South. An Indigenous scholar from India, she has lived in 10 countries across five continents to work with diverse international institutes including CGIAR centers, philanthropy, think tanks, higher education, and independently as a filmmaker for her initiative, Landing Together. Till mid-2024, she worked as an Associate Professor (Docent) in Sweden.

Dr. Bose holds an interdisciplinary PhD from Wageningen University. Her latest publication (2024) is an authored book, Acknowledging Indigenous Knowledge - Voices of Tropical Forest People. Recognising social dimension work on food security, livelihoods, gender, pastoralists, Indigenous peoples, environmental justice, and rural-forest governance in developing countries, the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry (KSLA) awarded her as an International Fellow. Currently, she is open for work related to her expertise including science communication, grant writing, capacity building, teaching, and research.
