Biography

Virginia Morales Olmos is a Forest Economist. She holds a Master´s degree and a Ph.D. in Forest Economics from the University of Georgia (United States of America). She is a full-time Adjunct Professor of Economics at the Universidad de la República, Uruguay (https://www.tacuarembo.udelar.edu.uy/departamento-de-ciencias-economicas/). Since 2022, she is the Director of the bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Management. 

Her expertise covers economic impact analysis of forest sectors, timber investments, renewable energies, and forest policy, with focus on Latin America. He has experience working in the public sector and the private sector. She is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) in Uruguay, level I. She has published 26 articles in scientific journals, 16 event papers, 5 book chapters and 18 technical papers.
